I arrived to find Jay Scott playing. A bit indyish, but it's that sort of venue - the only interesting thing was the bassist tranferring from electric bass to a stand-up double bass during the set. The Transmitters livened things up with their slightly more agressive and punk influenced slant on the indie sound. Singer Sarah was lively and bouncing around while guitarist Matt really drove things along with his high speed and very energetic performance. Bassist Aaron held things together with some fluid and funky basslines while Konrad filled in and added some colour with his keyboard. They have some decent songs too - I'll certainly be going to see them again - unlike either of the other bands on tonight's bill. The final band of the night were Proxy. Quite a tight indie unit, but not quite having that certain something to make them memorable like Copious or Crafty for instance. |
These Blogs mainly deal with the countless gigs I go to, but there is some other stuff in there too - and the odd rant! I've just finished adding over 900 of my old posts from MySpace on here - everything is now on proper chronological order from 2005 to date - there is a LOT to read. Some of the older links may not work anymore - just click on the highlighted text for links to more info.
