I went to a tribute gig in Camden (the most fitting place) for the late Geoff Starr of Sonic Boom Boys. Finnish rockers No Direction reformed specially just for this event - quite a lot of people were there to see them and they played a good show. The surviving members of Sonic Boom Boys were due to play, but their old drummer Simon 'the Gonk' (who was playing in AntiProduct until recently) couldn't make it as he was in hospital with a bad ankle. Various guest artists got up to play - the highlight was Yo-Yo's and WiLDHEARTS bassist Danny McCormack getting up to play a couple of songs with Jet and punk legend Charlie Harper. I think Geoff would have been proud of that. |
These Blogs mainly deal with the countless gigs I go to, but there is some other stuff in there too - and the odd rant! I've just finished adding over 900 of my old posts from MySpace on here - everything is now on proper chronological order from 2005 to date - there is a LOT to read. Some of the older links may not work anymore - just click on the highlighted text for links to more info.
