Went to see Planet Of Women play a very short notice show upstairs @ The Garage. They were supporting British Beef - a band I'd heard of but couldn't remember much about. Planet Of Women didn't have an easy night - they had bad sound through no fault of their own - and a missing member! Unfortunately, Jolene got stuck in traffic on the motorway and didn't make it to the gig. On top of all this, due to the short notice the band played to nearly none of their usual fans. In spite of all these problems, the band rose to the challenge and turned in a great performance. Even though I'm sure virtually none of the crowd present had heard of Planet Of Women, the band still got a great reception to their set! I stayed to check out British Beef afterwards. They were good at what they did, but were a bit too much of a Blink 182/Sum 42/Good Charlotte US sounding pop/punk act for my taste. They put on an energetic show and threw themselves into their performance. They gave out free promo CDs which was good. They didn't bring a huge crowd, but they had enough enthusiastic fans there to get a mosh pit going. |
These Blogs mainly deal with the countless gigs I go to, but there is some other stuff in there too - and the odd rant! I've just finished adding over 900 of my old posts from MySpace on here - everything is now on proper chronological order from 2005 to date - there is a LOT to read. Some of the older links may not work anymore - just click on the highlighted text for links to more info.
