Went to G-Lounge to catch a short notice show by Vamps 'N' Gypsies. As the gig was arranged at such short notice a rock covers band provided support and were quite good judging by the song or two I saw. There wasn't a huge crowd considering it was a Friday night, but then again attendance at gigs often seems poor over Bank Holiday weekends - and there hadn't been much promotion in the short time available apart from by the band themselves on MySpace. Still, the band threw themselves into it with enthusiasm and turned in a good entertaining performance. The sound was reasonable considering the limitations of the venue, although Danny's guitar could have been louder. Singer Nikki was apparently struggling a bit, although I didn't realise this until later when she told me she was suffering from a cold. Still, it was good fun - with band members running about all over the shop and climbing over the furniture during the songs. A Friday night in Camden well spent!
PS: G-Lounge later became Bar Monsta (cool place) and then Camden Rock (dodgy shithole).
