Another visit to the 12 Bar Club - a bit spur of the moment this time. Finnish rockers Stereo Junks had been recommended to be, as had Nothin' To Lose so I thought I'd kill two birds with one stone. I arrived to find Nothin' To Lose halfway through their set and launching into a cover of Motörhead's 'Killed By Death'. They played well and were quite entertaining - I like it when bands make an effort to entertain. Stereo Junks played more basic rock 'n' roll, but powered things up to another level with some better songwriting than the previous band. They seem to have some similar influences to fellow Scandinavian bands Hanoi Rocks and Backyard Babies - with some New York Dolls also thrown into the mix with is always a good thing. |
These Blogs mainly deal with the countless gigs I go to, but there is some other stuff in there too - and the odd rant! I've just finished adding over 900 of my old posts from MySpace on here - everything is now on proper chronological order from 2005 to date - there is a LOT to read. Some of the older links may not work anymore - just click on the highlighted text for links to more info.
