Went to see Towers Of London at the 100 Club. It was probably the most exciting show I've seen since the Yo-Yo's last month. The place was sold out and everyone was up for a good time - and they got it! This was possibly the best show I've seen by the band - certainly better than their gig at the Barfly not long ago, not that that was a bad one by any means. The band were certainly on top form for their show at this legendary venue. They have been criticised in some quarters for not being very original, and this is very true - but like The Darkness they take the music of the 70's and 80's and inject new life into it. To many of the kids today this music is new, whereas us older more seasoned rockers have seen it all before. The secret to enjoying a band like this is to put all that aside and just alow yourself to be entertained - and this is a band who go all out to give you the best and most exciting show they can put on. I like that - I like it a lot. Everybody in the 100 Club was well entertained last night, and the band looked like they were having a good time too - which can make all the difference to any gig. We ended up in Crobar afterwards, as is often the case the gigs in that area. Towers Of London turned up there too. They hadn't been there long when a massive (well as massive as you can fit in that tiny place) fight kicked off. Dunno what it was all about, but when these guys are around stuff often tends to happen... |
These Blogs mainly deal with the countless gigs I go to, but there is some other stuff in there too - and the odd rant! I've just finished adding over 900 of my old posts from MySpace on here - everything is now on proper chronological order from 2005 to date - there is a LOT to read. Some of the older links may not work anymore - just click on the highlighted text for links to more info.
