I was persuaded to go to this gig by the promoter as it was his Birthday bash - thanks Mark.  I saw three bands I otherwise wouldn't have seen and was pleasantly surprised. I also bumped into songstress Caroline Alexander which was nice as always.  It's good to go to a music venue and see a few bands without getting ripped off at the bar, and Lark In The Park is a nice intimate venue with pub bar prices. It was pretty packed, but not uncomfortably so.

Armstrong were playing as I arrived. This band seem to be building up a following with their club gigs and placings in the indie charts. They are more rocking than your average indie band, and feature some fancy guitar solos. Their singer has better stage presence than most in this genre, and sung one song while standing up on the bar - not something I've seen done in this venue until now. Klay were good too, but more of a 'muso' band than most indie outfits - some good players and some decent songs too. Last band were Keiko - a name I'd heard although I hadn't actually seen them or heard their music. They are an unlikely looking three piece who rock harder than you expect them too and certainly grab your attention - a name to look out for in future I think.
