I go to see Vamps 'N' Gypsies play their first show at the 12 Bar Club. This is a band who normally overflow the stage at most venues, with members performing from out in the crowd or standing on top of the bar - and here they are confined to what must be the smallest stage of any London rock venue! Singer Nikki ventures off the stage a couple of times, but guitarist Flash Danny goes one better and climbs off the stage onto the balcony. I've seen one or two singers do this at the 12 Bar - Danny goes even further, and plays guitar while hanging upside down from the balcony! I've never seen even Red Star Rebels go this far! Naturally the audience love it. This is one of the reasons I keep going back to see this band - they always go full out to give a memorable show. The music is pretty good as well, although the sound quality isn't that great on this occasion - however, this band are such good fun it doesn't matter tonight. |
These Blogs mainly deal with the countless gigs I go to, but there is some other stuff in there too - and the odd rant! I've just finished adding over 900 of my old posts from MySpace on here - everything is now on proper chronological order from 2005 to date - there is a LOT to read. Some of the older links may not work anymore - just click on the highlighted text for links to more info.
