A bit of a change of scene for this gig - the rather cool 50's inspired surroundings of Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes. It's only the second time I've visited this venue - the first being to see the Ramonas, another band with strong Ramones links. This place has a really cool old school rock & roll vibe to it, and in spite of it's 'themed' decor is actually quite reasonably priced both on the door and at the bar.

GABBA were very entertaining, in spite of having some technical problems. The vocals sounded a bit ropey early on, but when I moved from the side to a more central position things seemed to sound a lot better. There seemed to be some other problems with mics and also the guitar, but the show was still good fun!

Although the band aren't exactly a 'tribute' act in the normal sense, all the songs (or bits of them) sound very familiar so it's easy to get into it if you know many Ramones or ABBA songs.

I think this is a band who could build up a decent following if they got out and played gigs more regularly - the three times I've seen them they have been very well received.
