This is a great bill in a smallish venue - a gig I'd been looking forward to for a while. It was one of those nights when as Jonni from Pretty Suspects observed "everyone was there" - including Ginger looking down from the balcony as Backyard Babies played a song he had helped write. Towers Of London put on a great show as usual, although I've seen them do better. They are always entertaining and put plenty into giving people a show to remember. Even though they were supporting, they looked to have drawn a pretty good crowd in their own right and the place was already quite full when they were playing. Backyard Babies are one of those bands I have to see when they come to town as I know they are always great live. Tonight was no exception, although like Towers I have seen them play more exciting shows. There was a good mix of songs from all their albums - not just concentrating on their latest one - even though it's one of their best. Still no 'Bombed...' though. I feel lucky to have seen this band twice in London in only a few months as normally they only appear once when they release a new album. |
These Blogs mainly deal with the countless gigs I go to, but there is some other stuff in there too - and the odd rant! I've just finished adding over 900 of my old posts from MySpace on here - everything is now on proper chronological order from 2005 to date - there is a LOT to read. Some of the older links may not work anymore - just click on the highlighted text for links to more info.
