Men & Gods are one of those bands that I have now seen so many times that I've run out of things to say about them. The songs you can hear on theirMySpace profile don't really give you much idea at all of what they are like live. They certainly remind me more of Led Zeppelin than anyone else in the live setting, but there is plenty of other stuff in there too. Apparently, Led Zep shows used to be very spontaneous affairs - and this is also very much the case with Men & Gods. This spontaneity is why I can go and see this band again and again without every getting tired of their setlist - you can't get tired of the setlist if they don't have one. No two shows are ever the same, and it's a real pleasure to watch the on stage interaction between some top class musicians. It's good to see the band on the larger stage of the Purple Turtle - well worth a trip into Camden on a Monday night. |
These Blogs mainly deal with the countless gigs I go to, but there is some other stuff in there too - and the odd rant! I've just finished adding over 900 of my old posts from MySpace on here - everything is now on proper chronological order from 2005 to date - there is a LOT to read. Some of the older links may not work anymore - just click on the highlighted text for links to more info.
