So after the Mike Monroe gig in Islington I rush over to The The Gaff in time to catch Vice Squad. This band get plenty of people into this venue for some punk rock fury! After the lack of atmosphere at past Underworld shows, the band managed to generate some real excitement and atmosphere at Holloway Road's coolest rock 'n' roll haunt. Not surprisingly for a punk show, a pit starts at the front and things get a little crazy at times - but that's what you expect for this sort of gig. These people go out to have a good time - not to stand at the back and look cool. The band play a rollicking mixture of their old classics with some newer material thrown in - something for everybody. The crowd are well entertained by Beki and the boys and everybody goes home happy. |
These Blogs mainly deal with the countless gigs I go to, but there is some other stuff in there too - and the odd rant! I've just finished adding over 900 of my old posts from MySpace on here - everything is now on proper chronological order from 2005 to date - there is a LOT to read. Some of the older links may not work anymore - just click on the highlighted text for links to more info.
