Wow - I'm going to a gig and it's not at The Gaff!  From one of my favourite venues to one of my least favourite - the Underworld. I like this place less each time I go - stinky toilets, £4.10 for a bottle of Newcastle Brown and twattish security staff who try to get you out of the venue the minute the band has finished.  However, tonight I have good reason to grace this shithole (that's what it smells like) with my presence. Well known promoter Mick Monsta is having his Birthday gig at this venue and he's provided some good bands to entertain us.

First are well known Camden regulars Metalworks. This hard rock covers band always put on a polished performance as they knock out a barrage of familiar rock and metal classics.

Next is something a bit different. Possibly Mick's all time favourite band is The Faces, but even if if you've got a million or so spare to book them, Rod won't do it anyway. Could have just asked the Quireboys I suppose?  So anyway, tonight we have the live debut of Faces tribute act 2Faced - a band put together specifically for this occasion.

The idea is not to be a visual copy of the Faces, more to capture the spirit of the original band. Some, or maybe all of this band may look familiar to regulars of the Camden scene - guitarist Matt can more usually be seen playing with his 'day job' band Voodoo Six, and the others can more often be seen playing in Men & Gods.

We get treated to most the Faces classics, and the odd Rod Stewart song as well - although 'Pool Hall Richard' is conspicuous by it's absence!

2Faced are a lot of fun, and more than one person suggests that maybe they should do a few more gigs. Apparently this is a possibility so keep your eyes open...
