A good bill at The Boston Arms means I'm heading down to Tufnell Park for a good value for money night out.

Although Healthy Junkies seem to be playing all over London at the moment this is only the second time I've managed to see them.

Musically, the band's previous Queen Adreena influence seems to be less obvious tonight - although singer Nina is sporting more of a Katie Jane Garside look tonight. I like this.

This band didn't make much of an impression on me last time I saw them, but they seem noticably better tonight - maybe regular gigging has sharpened them up?

Next up is a hardworking band from outside London who manage to play regularly in the capital, and as a result are getting noticed more than many London bands who don't gig as often - such as tonight's headliners for instance.

However, Pussycat and the Dirty Johnsons aren't just getting noticed because of their regular gigging - they are also getting noticed because they have some good songs and an entertaining live show.

Gigs by this band are never predictable, and can end up with band members jumping off the stage or climbing over eachother and trying to throw other band members off the stage - Pussycat and the Dirty Johnsons shows are never boring!

Unfortunately tonight's headliners don't seem to play very often - this is a shame as The Derellas are a pretty good rock 'n' roll band.

There is a strong punk influence, but from the moment they hit the stage they are right in your face with a really tight and powerful rock & roll set.

The energy level is very high and this band totally demand your attention!

The Derellas are good fun and throw everything they have into their show. Hopefully they will be playing more regularly now - they have landed a slot supporting ex-Heartbreaker's guitarist Walter Lure at the Purple Turtle in November, along with Healthy Junkies - that should be a good night!
