Back to Kentish Town for the second time in a week - this time to the Bull & Gate. It made a pleasant change from most music venues to find real ale on tap in the front bar. It was only Bass, but it was quite drinkable and reasonably priced compared to other venues. I'm actually here to see the Transmitters - a bit more indie in style compared to most the bands I go and see. I've seen this band a few times over the years, with various lineup changes and this is probably the best I've seen them. The Transmitters are now on their third singer and have hopefully found a 'keeper'. Roxy is at least as good if not better than the band's previous singers, and has noticeably more stage presence - and it helps that she actually looks like she's in a band. The Transmitters give an energetic performance of indie tinged rock tonight and seem to be gathering momentum now they have started gigging more regularly again. It will be interesting to see what happens next... |
These Blogs mainly deal with the countless gigs I go to, but there is some other stuff in there too - and the odd rant! I've just finished adding over 900 of my old posts from MySpace on here - everything is now on proper chronological order from 2005 to date - there is a LOT to read. Some of the older links may not work anymore - just click on the highlighted text for links to more info.
