I'm at The Underworld to see the infamous Drugdealer*Cheerleader (more about them in the next blog) but the support band are well worth arriving early for. Essex Goth/Glamsters Trash Monroe have been around for a few years now and undergone some lineup changes - the latest being the addition of ex-King Lizard drummer Sky London. The band's live show has evolved into something very polished and slick. Trash Monroe turn in a particularly good performance tonight - they seem to really pull out all the stops as they are playing at one of Camden's best known venues. This is one of those gigs where you are very concious that you are not just seeing a band standing on a stage playing some songs - you are witnessing a performance. The quality of the band's musical performance is very high, but they manage to look great as well - there aren't that many bands around who manage to do both. Trash Monroe made it very worthwhile making the effort to get there early enough to see them - definitely one of the best support acts I've seen in a long time |
These Blogs mainly deal with the countless gigs I go to, but there is some other stuff in there too - and the odd rant! I've just finished adding over 900 of my old posts from MySpace on here - everything is now on proper chronological order from 2005 to date - there is a LOT to read. Some of the older links may not work anymore - just click on the highlighted text for links to more info.
