Sunday night finds me down at the 12 Bar Club to see Shush. It's guitarist Andy's birthday party gig, and they are headlining. In spite of me arriving reasonably early I can hear Shush playing from outside in Denmark Street as I arrive at the club. Fortunately it's only their first song.

I assume the band elected to go on before their support band to allow more drinking time after their set to celebrate Andy's birthday.

Shush turn in a cracking set as usual and the sound mix is surprisingly good for such a small confined space.

The band's tuneful pop/rock set has a lot of newer songs in it these days - now they have a full album to promote as well as their earlier EP.

Tonight the 'support' band follow the headliners - not that it really matters much on this occasion as there are obviously people here to see both bands. I only saw this lot last night - yes it's Catfight again!

Tonight's performance is definitely more convincing than last night's - possibly due to the more rock 'n roll atmosphere of this venue. The Joan Jett cover is particularly spirited and Catfight's set overall is more enjoyable - maybe the band are enjoying more of a 'home crowd' vibe tonight? Not a bad night's entertainment for a fiver - the 12 Bar Club is always good value for money.
