It's a good bill at the Hope & Anchor tonight - it's almost like it's 12 Bar Club night, as all these bands play there. The turnout is quite decent. I don't arrive in time to see the Space Wasters, but I saw most of their set the other day at The Gaff anyway. The first band I see tonight is Toxic Slut. A gig from this lot is quite a rare event these days, but it's still fun! Their enthusiasm is infectious! They surprise me by throwning in an Aerosmith cover. It's a shame this colourful and entertaining punk/pop band don't get out and play more often these days. The band finish off their set with a rousing cover of the Quireboys 'Sex Party'. After having to miss half of their set at The Gaff the other day, tonight I get to see the whole set. Like the last band, this lot are also good fun! ![]() The band tear through their set of Elvis covers and go down well with the crowd. ![]() Last band tonight is Camden's infamous Girls On Top This lot can easilly out-sleaze anyone from this city's current glut of sleaze rock bands... The world of Girls On Top is very sordid and sleazy! The band play a wise selection of songs from their three albums to date. It's a good night's entertainment for only about a fiver, and the beer upstairs is excellent! ![]() |
These Blogs mainly deal with the countless gigs I go to, but there is some other stuff in there too - and the odd rant! I've just finished adding over 900 of my old posts from MySpace on here - everything is now on proper chronological order from 2005 to date - there is a LOT to read. Some of the older links may not work anymore - just click on the highlighted text for links to more info.
