An interesting night at The Enterprise in Camden. I'd been looking forward to seeing three out of the four bands on the bill, but unfortunately one of them had to drop out due to a drummer mishap - sound familiar?  It was a shame as I'd been looking forward to checking out the Wildhearts influenced Special Patrol Group. The room upstairs in the pub where the bands play is small and intimate - it's also bloody freezing I find the spot I'm sitting in by the wall is particularly cold, like there's a window open - only there isn't. It's really weird as it just seems to be that particular small spot in the room where it's really cold, for no apparent reason. Makes you wonder...

Anyway, Honeykill are on first.

It's the second (semi)acoustic show I've seen them play recently, and although I much prefer the full electric version of the band, Tish and Jimi on their own do manage to get the songs across well.

It makes a nice change to hear the vocals clearly, and Tish's (normally barely heard) backing vocals really help fill out the sound.

Unlike their recent Bar Monsta set nothing much goes wrong technically this time - well not on stage at least, but the band find themselves locked out of their car later!  Fortunately they manage to find someone with AA membership downstairs and eventually a patrolman gets them into the car.

Eights 'N' Aces are on next and do a decent job warming the place up a bit.

They have got noticably tighter since the first time I saw them. Some new songs are being added to the set as well.

As is almost traditional now, something goes wrong during this band's set.  This time it's a broken guitar string. Jason can't find a suitable one in his selection of spares, and has to borrow a guitar off the following band to finish the set.

I'd never heard of the last band on the bill before, but they turn out to be rather good.

Like JOANovARC they are fronted by two sisters on bass and guitar, although this band has a male drummer.

The band is Bleech and they play catchy pop/punk with a bit of a grunge influence. They are certainly worth sticking around to see.

Bleech seem to have some decent tunes, and they play them well so I think they are worth catching again sometime.

At £8 it costs more to get in to see a similar bill at Bar Monsta or the Dublin Castle but it's still not a bad night - even though none of the real ale pumps in the pub are working.
