Yes, it's those rockney legends Chas & Dave at the legendary 100 Club. This time the real ale was actually on as well - always a bonus to be able to get a decent pint at a gig but it doesn't happen often.

At £20 a ticket it's not cheap, but these geezers are so good it's well worth it! It's one of those gigs you just know you are going to really enjoy - and we did!

Obviously, they are going to play all their hits like 'Gertcha', 'Rabbit', 'Margate', 'Ain't No Pleasing You', 'London Girls', 'Wallop', 'The Sideboard Song', etc but they have loads more really great songs that were never released as singles.

Apart from having a load of really great songs, Chas & Dave are highly underated as musicians - they are so good it would be a real pleasure to hear them play almost anything. But as well as all that, they also have plenty of charisma. They are genuinely funny as well - not just excellent musicians, but real entertainers

You just can't go and see Chas & Dave and not enjoy it.  Some people (mainly Arsenal fans) won't go and see them because they have recorded some football songs for their favourite team (Spurs) in the past. Arsenal fans just won't allow themselves to like Chas & Dave because of this. Their loss. Actually, the boys make a point of stating on their website that they don't play any football songs at their gigs - so there really is nothing to fear! Even an Arsenal fan would enjoy a Chas & Dave show - if he/she allowed themselves to.  I think this is the first (and hopefully last) time I've ever mentioned football in one of my blogs. Sorry - I hope I won't stoop so low again, but I thought the point needed making.

I know it's not the sort of music you would normally associate me with, but I really can't recommend Chas & Dave highly enough! There are very few bands who can generate such a fantastic atmosphere at their gigs. This is the best gig of 2009 so far. OK, I know it's the only gig of 2009 so far - but this will really take some beating!
