7/1/2010 The Dogbones & Monsters In The Attic @ The Gaff

The New Year is getting of to a slow start as far as gigs go - there doesn't seem to be much on as most people are skint and/or partied out after the holiday season. However, tonight I find myself at The Gaff again. I miss first band Hellcat Molly but hear they were rather good. Next are the Dogbones.

This band's shows can be chaotic and unpredictable - this one is no exception. Singer Nomi often ends up in the crowd - on this occasion she ends up getting carried in the arms of a girl in the audience while singing!

Later on Crispin hands guitar duties to Nomi for a while and takes lead vocals.

Not letting Crispin grab all the limelight, Nomi stands on the of the PA speakers to play guitar.

This is certainly one of the more interesting bands on the club scene at the moment - unusual with their twin drummer attack and driving grunge sound.

The last band on tonight's bill are Monsters In The Attic. I've not seen them before but they turn out to be rather good. Quite heavy with lots of meaty riffing and a slightly punk attitude.
PS: This venue has since become a Costa coffee bar.
