A bit of a last minute gig this - in aid of those unfortunate souls in Haiti. The show is at the Boston Arms music room in (Nigel) Tufnell Park. It's quite a decent little venue - it's a shame more promoters who put my sort of music on don't use it. Drinks at pub prices too!  It's only a fiver on the door - a bargain, so it's a shame there aren't more people in attendance. It's difficult to get the word out to many people with only a few days to promote the gig.  There are various acts performing, from burlesque to rock bands. Having been out checking out potential places to live earlier I don't make it in time to see the other acts, apart from part of Nick Marsh's solo acoustic set - he has a good voice.

The Loyalties are the last band of the evening. I'm looking forward to catching their whole set tonight as I missed them recently with the Wildhearts and had to leave early when they played at the 12 Bar Club the other night.

Consisting of ex-members of the much missed Yo-Yo's/Amen/Black Halos and now Towers Of London this band always put their heart and soul into their shows.

Their style of punk 'n' roll is very similar in sound to Danny McCormack's old band, but that's not surprising as bassist Tom Spencer was one of the principal songwriters and singers in the Yo-Yo's as well - although he played six string in that band.

The Loyalties have a bunch of good tunes of their own, and finish with 'Stockholm Sick Blues' to keep the Yo-Yo's fans happy as well.

A good Sunday night out, and all in a good cause too - just a shame there weren't more people there.
