A mixed night at the 12 Bar Club. When I arrive Max Splodge (of Splodgenessabounds fame) is on stage doing an acoustic spot. It's got a very 'Playing in the local for beered up lads' vibe, but he plays 'Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps' so that's good enough for me.  Next is some bloke from old 70's punks The Lurkers. Fairly forgetable were it not for him being joined on stage by Tom Spencer (ex-Yo-Yo and current Loyalties frontman) and Slim from Urban Voodoo Machine.  Last are West Country rockabillies the Eyelids.  An unusal three quarter female lineup and some decent tunes make them stand out from the crowd. Quite a lively outfit and worth seeing again.  Another good London Callin' night at the 12 Bar - always great value for money!  |
