I hotfoot it from Hoxton to the west end. I was hoping to catch Zodiac Mindwarp & The Love Reaction at the Intrepid Fox tonight but there just isn't time.  They play fairly regularly there anyway, whereas Fables Last Stand hadn't played in London for two years so...

Having missed Zod at The Fox by this point I head straight to the nearby 12 Bar Club. There I am pleasantly surprised by a new discovery - a band I haven't heard of before.

This is The Eyelids - three girls and a bloke from Falmouth playing spooky rockbilly. They take to the stage all dressed in blood splattered white boiler suits and Clockwork Orange style make-up as it's Halloween.

They find out it's rather hot on stage at this tiny venue and some of the boiler suits are soon removed.

This band are rather good. They are very lively and a lot of fun, with a lot of dark humour in the lyrics. I'll certainly be looking out for them again.

Last band of the evening are Viva Las Vegas playing a (very) late set of punk fuelled Elvis covers. It's high powered rock 'n' roll and everyone already knows all the songs - they can't lose!
