Another low profile gig in this intimate and relaxed Camden pub. Not that many people have turned up at Tommy Flynn's on a Tuesday night to see this 'musician's musician' - their loss. At only £3 on the door to see a class muso like Darrel Bath (and a couple of other bands too) 'value for money' doesn't get much better than this. Darrel has quite a large back catologue to dip into and you never know quite what he is likely to play - the only song I recognise tonight is 'Still Learning'. There is a good vibe in the room, and unlike some bands I could mention - it's all about the music. Darrel's guitar style is very natural and laid back - it's almost like he just thinks the notes and they flow out of his guitar with him hardly having to touch it. His very instinctive style makes it look so effortless - and I guess for him it really is.

The simple three piece band have a minimal setup, and they sound all the better for it. The music does the talking - not the equipment they use - because they hardly have any equipment at all. As I said in my previous blog about this lot - other bands could learn a lot from watching (and listening) to them.
This venue later became 'The Wheelbarrow'.
