No - not that Dangerous Toys! There used to be a London band of the same name featuring ex-Marionette guitarist Dave Veal. I played bass with them on and off over a few years. The band went though various linup and name changes before eventually splitting up a few years ago. However, the band's singer Gerry and Dave have got together to perform an acoustic set as part of a charity event at the Rose & Crown pub in Walthamstow. It's an odd experience seeing my former bandmates playing acoustically, and also in broad daylight on a Sunday afternoon!

Dave's old Marionette bandmate Kev has also turned up to see him give his first public performance in eight years. Dave and Gerry run through a set of mainly 60's and 70's classic covers, and throw in a handful of Dangerous Toys songs as well. It's quite an agreeable way to spend a pleasant Sunday afternoon. I'm disappointed by the lack of real ales on offer in the pub as they claim to always have two on tap, but they have run out of both. They don't even have any bottles of Newcastle Brown! Oh well, it was a nice afternoon apart from that.
